Piecing them all together

This week I’m scrambling to get two twin sized quilt tops pieced for two of my grandchildren.

I chose a quick and easy nine-patch with an adaptation of the Sunbonnet Sue in the center. By looking off a Sunbonnet Sue pattern I simply drew it on a sheet of Pan Liner, substituting an umbrella for the sunbonnet, then transferred the drawing to fabric.

Then I cut the pieces of the little girl with her umbrella from fabric and machine-appliqued them to muslin. Once they were finished I began placing finished nine-patch quilt blocks around her until the quilt was finished.

Someone else will quilt them.
