The first two types of Jesus in the Creation are:
1. Water = the Word of God
2. Light = Truth
And the third one is – (huge question!) – but I suspect there’s a type of Jesus’ crucifixion found in the Creation and I believe its the third one.
But where is it?
And why do I suspect there is one?
And why do I think its the third one?
And most of all, IS THERE ONE?
I think there’s one because of the many, many *Scriptures that speak of the plan of salvation, “from the foundation of the world.” Matt. 13:34,35; “All these things spake Jesus unto the mulitude in parables…..that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet (Ps.78:2) saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.'”
* See Eph. 1:4, 2 Tim.1:9, Titus 1:2, Heb.1:3 and 4:3,4, Matt.25:34, St. John 17:24.
The reason I think the type of the crucifixion came third in the Creation is because there’s an order of the types in the same pattern that there is to the order of salvation. 1. Hear the Word. 2. Accept the Truth. 4. Receive Eternal Life. St. John17:3. (I’m getting ahead of myself.) I believe number three is a type of the Crucifixion because we must accept the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross as payment for our sins before we can receive eternal life. (St. John 3:16, 1Peter 3:18)
I think the third type of Christ, in the Creation, is found in the verses below: (keep in mind that water is a type of the Word of God and Jesus is the Word in person.)
Genesis 1:6-8; And God said, “Let there be a firmament (oxygen rich atmosphere) in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven.
Think about this:
The waters above were separated from the waters below. Water is a type of the Word, and Jesus is the Word (St. John 1:1-3; “…and the Word was with God and the Word was God.’)
During the crucifixion Jesus cried in anguish, “My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46) At the moment when Jesus took the punishment for the sins of the world, God, the Father, Who was upon His Throne in Heaven, had to separate Himself from God, the Son, Who was on the earth. It had to happen so the life-sustaining gift of Salvation could be given to all who accept it. Until the perfect Lamb of God, who was “slain from the foundation of the world,” (Rev. 13:8) gave His blood as the atonement for the sins of all mankind, there had been no “atmosphere” of eternal life. Now there is!
Am I making any sense at all? I can easily see some types there but I’m not sure that I’m Biblically supported and so far haven’t been able to find anyone who can help me. I believe it’s very important that we don’t just take poetic ideas and say this is what this means. The Bible must say it first and so far I haven’t found that it does. (If you’ll come alongside me and give me some feedback I’ll be very grateful.)
St. John 17:24-26; “Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me, for Thou lovest Me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known Thee, but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent Me.
And I have declared unto them Thy Name, and will declare it, that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them and I in them.”
