Types & Shadows of Jesus Creation (Division of Waters)

image

The first two types of Jesus in the Creation are:

1. Water = the Word of God

2. Light = Truth

And the third one is – (huge question!) – but I suspect there’s a type of Jesus’ crucifixion found in the Creation and I believe its the third one.

But where is it?
And why do I suspect there is one?
And why do I think its the third one?
And most of all, IS THERE ONE?

I think there’s one because of the many, many *Scriptures that speak of the plan of salvation, “from the foundation of the world.” Matt. 13:34,35; “All these things spake Jesus unto the mulitude in parables…..that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet (Ps.78:2) saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.'”
* See Eph. 1:4, 2 Tim.1:9, Titus 1:2, Heb.1:3 and 4:3,4, Matt.25:34, St. John 17:24.

The reason I think the type of the crucifixion came third in the Creation is because there’s an order of the types in the same pattern that there is to the order of salvation. 1. Hear the Word. 2. Accept the Truth. 4. Receive Eternal Life. St. John17:3. (I’m getting ahead of myself.) I believe number three is a type of the Crucifixion because we must accept the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross as payment for our sins before we can receive eternal life. (St. John 3:16, 1Peter 3:18)

I think the third type of Christ, in the Creation, is found in the verses below: (keep in mind that water is a type of the Word of God and Jesus is the Word in person.)

Genesis 1:6-8; And God said, “Let there be a firmament (oxygen rich atmosphere) in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven.

Think about this:
The waters above were separated from the waters below. Water is a type of the Word, and Jesus is the Word (St. John 1:1-3; “…and the Word was with God and the Word was God.’)

During the crucifixion Jesus cried in anguish, “My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46) At the moment when Jesus took the punishment for the sins of the world, God, the Father, Who was upon His Throne in Heaven, had to separate Himself from God, the Son, Who was on the earth. It had to happen so the life-sustaining gift of Salvation could be given to all who accept it. Until the perfect Lamb of God, who was “slain from the foundation of the world,” (Rev. 13:8) gave His blood as the atonement for the sins of all mankind, there had been no “atmosphere” of eternal life. Now there is!

Am I making any sense at all? I can easily see some types there but I’m not sure that I’m Biblically supported and so far haven’t been able to find anyone who can help me. I believe it’s very important that we don’t just take poetic ideas and say this is what this means. The Bible must say it first and so far I haven’t found that it does. (If you’ll come alongside me and give me some feedback I’ll be very grateful.)

St. John 17:24-26; “Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me, for Thou lovest Me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known Thee, but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent Me.

And I have declared unto them Thy Name, and will declare it, that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them and I in them.”

  1. Yes you are right Jewel, you are making good sense, Jesus is the Living Word, He is The Truth and also our Living Water our refreshing and our Bread of Life, our life giving force and our substance, in Him we have our being, we are part of Him as He is in The Father and The Holy Ghost we are in Him and He in us.

It is claimed that there was no pain or death before the fall but this is not True, God showed in His Creation The need for Jesus to die and set us free. He said to Eve that her pain in Child bearing would increase so she must have experienced some pain which no doubt would have been minimal with the help of pain relief found in the garden, God provided all they needed there but when it was necessary for them to leave because of their sin they forfeited the help they had in God’s provision in the Garden and so Adam had to then labour hard to provide, suffering the problems of uncultivated land.

We see also in the caterpillars life cycle the need to struggle to escape the confines of the cocoon … why because it is needed for new life as a Butterfly, ( see link below ) As for us it is in hardship and suffering that we discover God’s faithfulness when we have eyes( His wisdom ) to see His goodness, it is not that He wanted us to suffer but that He knew we would and so prepared us for it and it’s in Trusting Him we no longer depend on our own resources, which will always let us down and can be very tedious in the long run.

A wanted baby gives pain being Born but he also gives great Joy in being Born, if a baby does not force it’s way our of the Birth canal then it will die unless intervention is given and so we too need God’s intervention to be Born again not of natural birth but Spiritual Birth, do we experience pain only in preventing it from happening by choosing our own way but in the struggle we can see God still sustains.

Jesus said … Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. ( John 12:24 )

1 Peter 1 :23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, ( John 14:5-7 ) which liveth and abideth for ever.

God showed in Creation the need for us to die to ourselves , to put our flesh to death that causes us to sin and sin leads to Spiritual death ( Colossians 3:4-6 ) which is total separation from God as you shared Jewel, we need to come out of the flesh cocoon of evil but we can’t do this alone, only by the empowering of The Holy Spirit as we choose to walk in His Fruit.

Jesus made it possible for us to die to ourselves because by His death and resurrection signifying new life, He set us free from the slavery of sin, ( John 8:34-36 & Romans 6:5-7 ) He paid the price so we would no longer be in bondage to Satan whose only hold on us is if we choose to sin but when we are Born again of God’s seed we can’t sin so He no longer has a hold on us and no Temptation will be greater then we can bear because having the mind of Christ we die to ourselves each day as we choose to walk in goodness so putting the flesh to death and as it is weakened, Christ in us is strong.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1 John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne
