The Way to a Man’s Heart…

…is through his stomach.

IF that is true, try this, ladies.

Chicken Hips a la’ Georgia (Ok, I made up the title because I first learned of this recipe in Georgia)

Skin the boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or any kind of meat; chicken, pork, venison, beef. Its all good!)

Ahhh…. you may skip skinning the thighs if they are boneless, skinless chicken thighs.

Mix in a blender jar:
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
5 oz. soy sauce
1 small onion
1 T ground black pepper
You may add whatever additional seasonings you care to: garlic, red pepper flakes, etc. Sometimes I add italian dressing. It all depends on the humidity (I mean – the mood.)

Give it a whirl in the blender so there won’t be onion chunks to deal with. Pour over the meat and marinate for as long as you like, 2 or 3 hours, all day, all day and all night, in the freezer for a month or so; it doesn’t really matter.

Bake, fry, crockpot, grill – just cook em right.

I’m sorry I can’t give more detailed instructions, but I am one of those cooks who does not stir with a wooden spoon if the recipe says to. That is how I found my way into a man’s heart, and its how I keep him. (For thirty-six years.)


Oh yeah, somtimes I let him eat out, too.

    • That’s the upstairs balcony at Mugshots in Starkville. We went there for our anniversary. It was a cool, pleasant evening with no humidity and no loud music, and it made for good memories. Its kind of expensive but we figured we’ll never be married thirty-six years again, so once in a lifetime, ya know.
