Do you know the fast way to pick the stems off of cherries for canning?

ONE STEM AT A TIME! (Ya, takes all day.)

Pack the prepared fruit in jars up to the first ring and fill either with a sugar/water syrup, or water (for unsweetened fruit.)

This time I did something that I haven’t done in a long time. I broke a jar as I was lowering it into the canner. It was on the second batch so the water was hot. I had dipped a gallon of the hot water out and poured another one of cold water back in, but one of the jars broke right around the bottom. So be careful about that.

Some of the peaches we canned and others we froze. To freeze, peel, slice, sweeten to taste, and pack in freezer containers or heavy duty ziplock bags.

The Bible says not to “muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn.” In our case it was peaches.
