Jeremiah Twelve: Racing Against Horses

JEREMIAH: You are righteous and just, so may I talk with You?

Why do the wicked prosper?
How can they be so happy?
They are successful in their pursuits, even though they accomplish them through trickery and deceit!
They say You’re their God but they won’t obey You.

Oh Lord, You are just! Punish their wickedness!
They are destroying the people.
They are stripping the land of prosperity, and they say their reign is forever. No one dares to object.

GOD: If you’re exhausted from running with the footmen, how do you plan to race with the horses?

You trusted in the land of peace, but in what will you trust “when the river floods?”
