Jeremiah Fifteen: Swords, Dogs, Birds, and Beasts

The goal of the Destroyer is to destroy the living and consume the dead.

The goal of the Savior is to revive the weary, free the prisoner and resurrect the dead.

Sometimes, actually, most times, all that stands between the Two are intercessors willing to plead for the sinners who are spiritually caught in the middle.

Jeremiah stood in the middle between the Destroyer and the Savior with no positive results from his wicked people. In time be became angry, hurt, and afraid because the longer he preached the more wicked they became. He felt depressed because be was wrongfully persecuted. Worst of all, he felt abandoned by the very God for Whom he was working – and he told Him so.

Did God rebuke Jeremiah for accusing Him of not helping him when he needed it most?
No. He promised him protection from his enemies.

Did He promise fruit for his labors?
No. He said no one would turn to Him. In fact, He said, “You can pray for the people but they won’t repent and in the end, some will be killed by the sword, some will be mauled by wild dogs, others will be pestered by marauding birds, and still others torn by vicious beasts!”

Did God tell him he could go home and live in peace?
No. He said He needed someone to be a microphone for Him, to preach, warn, and intercede for the people. “If thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as My mouth,” He said.

My Parents stood in the middle between the Destroyer and my Savior for me.

Is someone standing in the middle for you?

And, is there someone for whom you are interceding?

Or should be?

Or could be?
